The success of Riversun in the USA market, results from a commitment by Riversun members to proactively adopt the development of systems which deliver a consistently high quality product to its customers. The ongoing evaluation of systems and procedures ensures Riversun is able to react with a timely and positive response to changes in quarantine or marketing requirements.
Quality Manuals
The development of the Quality Specifications Manual was a significant step in the process of standardisation of product quality, packing and transporting materials. In addition it enabled the formulation and introduction of quarantine protocols to deal with USDA quarantine concerns.
Communication
The fact that Riversun is representative of the majority of the citrus industry through its membership, permits the coordinated introduction of systems across the whole industry, and ensures the accuracy of communication and information relevant to the industry.
Several quality meetings are conducted with staff from all packinghouses at the commencement of each season to provide detailed information about changes to systems and procedures, and to confirm the specifications set down in the manual. Individual packinghouse visits and audits are conducted as required.
Conformance
All product shipped is expected to conform with the standards established in the manual. However, to maintain the consistency and reliability of product on arrival in the USA, all product is inspected against the standards on arrival. Any product which fails to meet the standard is repacked before dispatch to customers.
Riversun undertakes to continue improvements in products and systems in accordance with its customer needs, and will continue to monitor its performance through communication with its members, agents, and customers, with the intention of meeting or exceeding expectations at all times.
